Playing the waiting game…

Trying to get an approval on your Development Application (DA) is always going to be a lengthy process, but we didn’t realise it would take over a year of waiting. As the months flew, things just didn’t sink in and I thought that we would never make a start on the house. Even the notice that the Council hung on our property was beginning to just look like part of the house…you know like those scenes where you see a shiny object, and then you see the object start to age as the background shows the change of seasons?…it was kind of like that.

But! Light at the end of the tunnel…we FINALLY got our Construction Certificate and the go ahead to officially start moving some dirt around. Exciting times…but…another but…something else decided to get our attention first. There must be something about renovating that sends out some baby making vibes, because after 2 years of trying and 2 miscarriages, I finally fell pregnant. Any plans for moving any dirt out the back were put on hold as we focussed on baby no. 2. I won’t go into further details about my pregnancy, coz’ this blog is about home renovations, but all this mean was just continuing to play the waiting game…
